Alvorens OpenDCC in te schakelenmoet Stop ingedrukt en vastgehouden worden. Nu wordt een zgn. bootloader opgestart (CTRL LED brand permanent), er wordt nu op een nieuwe software versie gewacht. Deze software wordt in het niet vluchtig geheugen van de OpenDCC geladen.
